Auditioning for Dragon’s Den Canada was one of the most nerve-wracking yet exciting experiences of my entrepreneurial journey. Practicing my pitch, knowing I had only a few minutes to express everything about Boogie Boots, I felt the weight of every decision I had made up to that moment. But what I didn’t expect was how much this experience would reinforce my confidence in Boogie Boots.

As I spoke about my product—Crawlers are patent-pending crawling baby shoes designed to actually stay on—I saw heads nodding and eyes lighting up. The people I was practicing on, parents, friends, and businesspeople from the Comox Valley and beyond, understood the problem I was solving. Parents know the struggle: you step outside with your baby, only to find their little shoes slipping off, lost somewhere along the way. Boogie Boots solves this frustration, making it easier for families to enjoy the outdoors without worry.

Hearing the positive feedback during the practice auditions reminded me that I’m not just selling baby shoes—I’m providing peace of mind. I’m helping parents get outside with their little ones without the hassle of constantly checking for missing footwear. That realization keeps me motived, whether I make it onto the show or not.

I felt confident and clear during my audition, and I know that I did my best, which is all any of us can do. I’ll find out by early April if I made it onto the show and I’ll keep you posted.

This journey has only just begun, and I can’t wait to bring Crawlers by Boogie Boots to families across Canada and beyond. Stay tuned—big things are coming!
